Partnering With Parents to Teach Kids About Jesus

In Radiant Church, we meet your child at their level in exciting, relevant ways. Our team helps your child discover Jesus through age-appropriate, hands-on Bible lessons. We partner with parents, working together so kids learn in a physically, spiritually, and emotionally safe context.

We want to instill in the children at Radiant church the importance of Scripture and participating in church. As such, we are going to introduce some new things on Sunday morning.

Each week we will send home a note including what we taught on this week, and some questions that we have discussed in Sunday school, which you can review with your child. It will also include what we will be teaching next week in Sunday school, and we encourage you to read through the story with your child, and to read the passage in a traditional Bible which the story is taken from. These references can be found at the beginning of each story in The Action Bible.

We are beginning Bible Rewards.
All parents are invited to come to the Sunday school room to see their child’s progress. Stickers on the Bible Rewards chart can be earned by a child bringing their Action Bible to Sunday school with them each week, and by reciting their memory verses. We have three memory verses for your child to practice from now until the end of the year. A reward may be obtained for every ten stickers.

We have one hour a week with your child, and we want to do as much as we can, but you have many more hours with them. “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). Please read with your children, ask them questions about the story and help them to understand, help them practice their memory verses and remind them to bring their Bibles to church so that we can make the most of our learning experience on Sundays.

Not everyone here has children, but we are one church community, so please, let’s support parents and children. Prayer is possibly the most important thing you can do. Pray for the children to have soft hearts ready to learn. Pray for the Sunday school teachers to be ready and prepared for the morning. Pray especially for the mothers and fathers to persevere through the challenges of parenting. to impress the truth of scripture on their children. Pray for our church, to be a support to the children and their mothers and fathers.
